Corral de Tierra Custom Built Mediterranean Estate Home with Guest Home and a Pool for Sale
Spectacular Mediterranean estate set on 3.59 acres of beautiful, sunny Corral de Tierra land just down the street from the Chamisal Tennis and Fitness Club. At the center of this amazing, sun lit estate property is a 5000+ square foot Mediterranean home built new in 2003 by the current owner. It has an open floor plan that is perfect for entertaining large groups of people but also comfortable and cozy enough to just hang out in. Vaulted ceilings abound and every doorway and window I could see was arched! The materials are as expected, limestone floors, Venetian plaster walls, granite counter tops, knotty alder doors and windows and stainless steel appliances.
The layout of this modern take on a Mediterranean is traditional with the living on one side of the home and the bedrooms on the other side of the home. The Grand entry is open to the entire living side of the home, with the formal living room, family room and large kitchen all visible from the entry, with a round wet bar as a central focal point. There is a fireplace in the living room and another one in the family room adding a little more ambiance to an already charming interior.
A Kitchen to Die For!
The kitchen is enormous with more than ample counter space available for the largest of gatherings. The 13’ long King Island is the centerpiece of the kitchen with seating available at either end. There is a 48” Thermador Professional dual fuel range plus a professional hood and a pot filler at the chef’s fingertips. At one end of the kitchen is an eat-in breakfast nook big enough to be the dining area and at the other end is a built-in desk, computer station and cabinets, with the walk-in pantry off to the left.
The master suite is very private and spacious as you might expect. It has a sitting room with a fireplace and a wet bar with a mini frig, a large sliding glad door that opens up to the pool, a beautiful bathroom with a large 9 head shower, a soaking tub, a private balcony, a long dual vanity and of course a walk in closet.
There are three additional bedrooms in the house, each with its own bathroom, a 600 sf guest house with a bedroom and a bathroom, enough garage space for 7 cars, 1500 sf of additional storage under the house and an amazing dedicated home theater room with Dolby 7.1 HD Surround and a reverse projection system with three rows of seating!
Incredible Pebble Sheen Pool with Boulder Waterfall
With the incredible weather in Corral de Tierra, you will certainly enjoy the amazing custom pool at 25385 Camino de Chamisal! It has its own beach plus a water slide, a 50 ton boulder water fall and a self-contained hot tub! The pool decking is done in flagstone along with all of the exterior trim. With the large outdoor fireplace on the pool deck, this house is an amazing show piece and a great home to entertain your family and guests. They will certainly be impressed by the many amenities and the incredible weather this estate has to offer.
About Corral de Tierra
The Corral de Tierra neighborhood is a relatively small rural area located right in the middle of Monterey and Salinas roughly 15 minutes east of Monterey off Hwy 68. Corral de Tierra Road forks off Hwy 68 just west of the Toro Café and runs right down the center of the Corral de Tierra Canyon to the south east until it runs into San Benancio Rd. There are homes that are set back on both sides of Corral de Tierra Road as well as many private roads branching off allowing for homes to be built up the canyon walls making this neighborhood unique from many others.
Corral de Tierra Canyon, referred to as “Las Pasturas del Cielo” in John Steinbeck’s book, “The Pastures of Heaven” was aptly named based on the scenic beauty of this area. John Steinbeck spent time all over Monterey County as a kid, but apparently Corral de Tierra made a lasting impact on him. He especially liked the Castle Rock area of Corral de Tierra as described in the book. Read more…
