Sea Otter Mother and Pup Visit Monterey Bay Aquarium
You never know what you are going to see on the Monterey Peninsula, so imagine the excitement when a wild Sea Otter brought her fuzzy little ball of fur pup to hang out at the Monterey Bay Aquarium for the day. Aquarium staff couldn't have arranged for a better pair of guest for the crowd who watched the two snuggle, play and rest in the great tidal pool.
It is pretty common to see sea otters now on the Monterey Peninsula despite their position on the endangered species list. The Monterey Bay Aqurium has an extensive Sea otter program including research, rehabilitation of stranded pups and a release back to wild program that has a significant success rate!
