Pacific Grove Asilomar Area

Search all Pacific Grove Asilomar area real estate currently listed on the MLSAsilomar is one of the most desirable areas in all of Pacific Grove real estate.  And why wouldn’t it be with the spectacular Asilomar State Beach and beautiful rocky shoreline bordering this fabulous neighborhood to the west.  If you are looking for a great place to watch a Monterey Peninsula sunset, Sunset Drive at Asilomar is the place to go!

Asilomar was put on the map way back in 1913 when renowned architect Julia Morgan broke ground on the Asilomar Conference Grounds.  The beautiful Craftsman Style property took 15 years to complete and is still a working conference center today and is part of the California State Park system.

The Asilomar coastal sand dunes are a big draw for people looking for real estate with unobstructed ocean views, and the views are absolutely stunning!  There are a mixture of older beach cottages and newer remodeled or even newer construction homes on the dunes in Asilomar.  Expect to pay for this prime real estate as houses for sale here on the dunes can get pricey.

The rest of the Asilomar area feels a lot like Pebble Beach with tall pine trees, the cool Pacific Ocean breeze and coastal fog. Homes are situated on larger lots that average a quarter of an acre or so.  This is in stark contrast to the rest of Pacific Grove which typically has homes on lots that are very small.  In general, the highest priced homes in Pacific Grove are in the Asilomar area.

Pacific Grove’s Asilomar area is located southwestern tip of Pacific Grove’s rocky coastline and extents north to the Point Pinos Lighthouse (Lighthouse Ave.).  The eastern border of this area is 17 Mile Drive and the southern border is Sunset Drive.
