Parts of Prunedale even have views of Moss Landing and the Monterey Bay, making it that much more desirable.
Prundale, although very close to the Monterey Bay waterfront, is known for its beautiful weather as well as the beautiful scenery. Those wanting to escape the coastal fog and colder temperatures can find local micro climates allowing them to do so in Prunedale. Located closer to the middle of Monterey bay near the mouth of the Salinas river, residents can expect the wind to pick up each day during the summer months as it comes up in the Salinas Valley each afternoon.
Prunedale real estate includes small tracks of homes like the Oak Hills neighborhood along with much more rural settings with acreage and is made up of a very eclectic mixture of homes. From large custom homes selling for over $1,000,000 to small track homes and farm houses in the low $300,000 range. The majority of Prunedale homes are ranch style homes as was in fashion during the 1960’s through the 1980”s in all of California. Prices are much more affordable than in Monterey or the surrounding coastal cities making this a popular location for first time buyers who can’t quite afford a home on the peninsula.
Prunedale is a great place to find an older home to remodel and in some cases to surround yourself with your own private acreage. It is rural by nature and many homes include space for horses and farm animals making it ideal for those who are a bit more adventurous than the city folk. It is however convenient to San Benito County, Salinas and the Monterey Peninsula with commute times being just 10-20 minutes.
