Monterey Peninsula Home Team
Local Roots. Experienced Negotiation. A Personal Approach to Monterey Peninsula Real Estate.
Mark Bruno is a Pacific Grove-based REALTOR® and co-owner of the Monterey Peninsula Home Team at Keller Williams Coastal Estates.
Having grown up on the Monterey Peninsula, Mark developed an appreciation for the communities, architecture, neighborhoods and coastal lifestyle that make this region unlike anywhere else in California.
After building a career in sales management, product development and business leadership, Mark returned to the Monterey Peninsula and entered the real estate profession in 2005.
Today, he combines local knowledge with negotiation experience, careful property analysis, marketing strategy and straightforward communication to help clients buy and sell real estate throughout Pacific Grove, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Pebble Beach, Monterey, Carmel Valley and neighboring communities.
Mark is also a past president of the Monterey County Association of REALTORS®, having served as its president in 2017.
Celebrating 20 Years of REALTOR® Service
In 2026, Mark received his 20-Year REALTOR® Pin, commemorating two decades of professional service in real estate.
The recognition was especially meaningful because Mark received his milestone pin on the same day his mother and fellow team co-owner, Lynda Nichols, received her 50-Year REALTOR® Pin from the Monterey County Association of REALTORS®.
Together, their milestones celebrate 70 years of recognized REALTOR® service across two generations of the same family.
From Business Leadership to Monterey Peninsula Real Estate
Before becoming a REALTOR®, Mark built a successful career in the mobile electronics industry.
His professional responsibilities included product development, regional sales management, brand management and executive-level leadership.
Those positions required him to negotiate business agreements, manage sales organizations, analyze complex information and develop effective marketing strategies.
Although his career provided opportunities to travel and work internationally, Mark always valued the community where he grew up.
Returning to the Monterey Peninsula in 2005 allowed him to combine his professional experience with a lifelong connection to the area.
Today, that background influences the way Mark approaches real estate: study the available information, understand the client's objectives, negotiate thoughtfully and communicate directly.
His guiding philosophy is simple: "Take care of people, and the rest will take care of itself."
Pacific Grove Real Estate: Understanding the Details
Pacific Grove is one of the Monterey Peninsula's most distinctive residential communities.
From the historic cottages near downtown and the Old Retreat to the neighborhoods surrounding Asilomar, the Beach Tract, Washington Park and Forest Grove, each area offers a different combination of architecture, location and lifestyle.
Mark works with buyers and sellers throughout Pacific Grove, helping them evaluate how neighborhood characteristics and property-specific details influence market value.
In Pacific Grove, two homes with similar square footage can have substantially different values because of factors such as:
- Proximity to the ocean, downtown and coastal trails.
- Neighborhood character, walkability and surrounding homes.
- Historic architectural features and potential preservation requirements.
- Permitted improvements, additions and actual living area.
- Parking, access, lot configuration and outdoor space.
- Property condition, foundations and older building systems.
- Ocean views, exposure, microclimates and natural light.
- Recent comparable sales and competing buyer demand.
These details are especially important when evaluating historic Pacific Grove cottages, where age, architectural character, renovations, location and ocean views can significantly affect both desirability and value.
Mark believes that clients benefit from understanding these differences before making important decisions.

A Local Perspective Across the Monterey Peninsula
Although Mark's office is located in Pacific Grove, his real estate work extends throughout the Monterey Peninsula.
Buyers considering multiple communities often discover that properties only a few miles apart can differ dramatically in architecture, value, regulations and lifestyle.
A Carmel-by-the-Sea cottage, Pebble Beach estate, Pacific Grove Victorian, Monterey condominium or Carmel Valley property may involve very different considerations.
Mark helps buyers evaluate those differences according to their priorities, whether they are searching for a primary residence, second home, retirement property or investment.
His approach emphasizes neighborhood-level research, property-specific analysis and a clear understanding of the financial and practical considerations involved in a purchase.
Helping Buyers Make Informed Decisions
Mark believes effective buyer representation is about much more than finding available properties.
An experienced buyer's agent should help clients recognize both a property's advantages and the issues that deserve additional investigation.
Mark's approach includes studying comparable sales, evaluating market conditions, discussing property-specific risks and developing an appropriate offer strategy.
He also helps buyers understand the importance of inspections, disclosures, financing terms, title considerations and contractual deadlines.
His goal is to help clients move forward with confidence, supported by accurate information and realistic expectations.

Strategic Marketing and Seller Representation
Mark's professional background in sales management, product development and marketing is particularly relevant when helping homeowners prepare their properties for sale.
Selling a home successfully requires understanding the property, its likely buyers, current competition and the seller's priorities.
Mark works with sellers to evaluate pricing, presentation, timing and marketing strategy.
The Monterey Peninsula Home Team combines professional photography, property presentation, online marketing, local relationships and coordinated support to bring listings to market.
The team's operations are supported by Teresa Bruno, who helps manage listing preparation, scheduling and administrative details.
This allows the agents to focus on client representation, market strategy and negotiations while the practical steps of preparing a home are carefully coordinated.
Mark believes a thoughtful selling strategy should begin before the property is publicly listed.
