Peter’s Gate – Monte Rogio Real Estate

Peter’s Gate – Monte Rogio real estate is best defined as eclectic. Like most of the Monterey peninsula, Peter’s Gate really started to grow in the 1910’s through the 1950’s and you will see plenty of homes here from that era. Peters Gate – Monte Rogio is a very desirable Monterey, CA neighborhood that is located near downtown Monterey. Peter’s Gate, as everyone locally calls the area, has been a favorite Monterey neighborhood for locals forever! And what is not to like about it! Peter’s Gate gets its name from artist Charles Rollo Peters, a painter from San Francisco who enjoyed the local artist scene in Carmel and especially loved painting the old Monterey adobe’s in various state of ruin. He owned a gated 30 estate which he later sold and was subdivided into what is now referred to as the Peter’s Gate neighborhood. This neighborhood exudes charm and although it is so close to downtown Monterey, you feel as though you are out in the suburbs.
