4369 Shoreline Court is a spacious Seaside Highlands residence located on a quiet cul-de-sac in one of Seaside's newer planned residential communities. Built in 2005, the home was originally featured by the Monterey Peninsula Home Team in 2016 and offered Monterey Bay views, four bedrooms, two-and-one-half bathrooms and substantially more living space than is typical of many older homes elsewhere in Seaside.
This article remains online as part of our archive of Monterey Peninsula real estate and as a useful example of the larger homes, Bay views, attached garages and planned-community setting buyers can find within Seaside Highlands.

A Well-Maintained Seaside Highlands Residence
One of the things that stood out about 4369 Shoreline Court when we originally marketed the property was its curb appeal and evident pride of ownership. The landscaped front yard, covered entry and well-maintained exterior created an inviting approach to the home.

The home's generous floor plan provided both formal and informal living areas. The entry opened to a formal living room with a gas fireplace and a separate dining space, while the kitchen and family room created a more casual everyday living area.
Kitchen & Family Room
The kitchen featured a center island, breakfast area, pantry and generous cabinet space. It opened toward the family room, creating the type of connected kitchen-and-living arrangement many buyers continue to prefer.

The adjoining family room included another fireplace, built-in cabinetry and abundant natural light. Together, the kitchen, breakfast area and family room created a comfortable gathering space separate from the home's more formal rooms.
Bedrooms & Primary Suite
The upper level included the primary suite along with three additional bedrooms and a sitting or loft area at the top of the stairs.
The primary bedroom offered generous proportions, a coved ceiling and windows overlooking the backyard. The adjoining bathroom included dual vanities, a soaking tub, separate shower and large walk-in closet.
A second upstairs bathroom served the additional bedrooms and included dual sinks and substantial storage.
Outdoor Living
The backyard was another important feature of the property. A large patio created room for outdoor dining and entertaining, while terraced landscaping provided definition and visual interest.

Other features included a dedicated laundry room, two-car garage with workshop area and convenient access to the parks, greenbelts and walking paths associated with Seaside Highlands.
Seaside Highlands: Corrected Neighborhood History
Seaside Highlands has an important connection to the redevelopment of former Fort Ord.
An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that Seaside Highlands was developed in the early 1990s. The neighborhood was actually created later as part of the reuse of former military land.
Approximately 600 former Army housing units were removed from roughly 110 acres, and the property was redeveloped with approximately 380 new residences. The Seaside Highlands project was completed by 2005.
That history helps explain why Seaside Highlands feels distinctly different from much of traditional Seaside, where many homes were constructed during the 1940s through the 1970s.
Seaside Highlands generally offers newer construction, larger floor plans, attached garages, landscaped streets, greenbelts, parks and walking paths.

Monterey Bay Views in Seaside Highlands
Seaside Highlands occupies an elevated position above lower Seaside and Sand City. Selected properties benefit from views toward Monterey Bay, the coastline and surrounding communities.
View quality can vary substantially from one property to another. Some homes capture broad Monterey Bay views from primary living areas or upper floors, while others have partial views or distant water glimpses.
4369 Shoreline Court was marketed in 2016 as a Monterey Bay view property, illustrating one of the features that can distinguish individual Seaside Highlands homes.

Seaside Highlands & Bayonet / Black Horse Golf Courses
Seaside Highlands adjoins portions of the Bayonet & Black Horse golf complex, and selected residences are positioned along or near the courses.
Golf-course proximity is one of the characteristics that distinguishes this portion of Seaside, but buyers should differentiate between a home located near the courses and one with actual fairway frontage or golf-course views.

The Enclave Adds a Newer Luxury Option
The housing choices in this part of Seaside have expanded considerably since this article was first published.
The Enclave at Bayonet & Black Horse adds a newer gated luxury-home community next to Seaside Highlands. It includes substantially newer one- and two-story residences, with selected properties offering golf-course, Monterey Bay or partial ocean views.
This means buyers looking in this part of Seaside can now compare established Seaside Highlands homes with significantly newer construction in The Enclave.
Our updated Seaside Highlands / The Enclave neighborhood page explains the differences between the two communities and displays current MLS listings.
How Seaside Highlands Fits Into the Seaside Market
Seaside is one of the Monterey Peninsula's most varied residential markets. Housing ranges from smaller cottages and mid-century homes in established neighborhoods to Monterey Bay view properties, condominiums, multi-family real estate and newer homes in Seaside Highlands and The Enclave.
Seaside Highlands generally occupies a different market segment from older portions of the city because of its newer construction, larger average floor plans, attached garages and planned-community environment.
